Which version should you pick?
After you paste a link, the MP4 video group lists only the versions TikTok actually stores for that video. Every button shows the resolution and file size before you download.

Full HD only shows up when the creator uploaded the video in 1080p. In the videos we tested, TikTok's 1080p and 720p files were always HEVC (H.265), while the H.264 file stopped at 576p. The tool never upscales, so you get exactly the file TikTok stores.
HEVC plays natively on iPhone, iPad, Mac and most Android phones from the last few years. On Windows, if the Photos or Movies app asks for a codec, open the file in the free VLC player or install the HEVC extension from the Microsoft Store (it may cost a small fee). If you need a file that plays everywhere, pick plain No watermark.

Where do the files go?
iPhone and iPad
Use Safari. When Safari asks whether to download the file, confirm. The file lands in the Files app, in Downloads. To move a video to your Photos library, open it in Files, tap Share and choose Save Video.
Android
Use Chrome. Files go to the Download folder and show up in your gallery or Google Photos after a few seconds. If you cannot find one, open Files by Google and look in Downloads.
Windows and Mac

Why is there no Full HD option for my video?
Full HD appears only when the creator uploaded the video in 1080p and TikTok kept that version. Lower resolution uploads only have HD or the standard version.
The HD file will not play on my computer. What can I do?
HD and Full HD files are usually HEVC. Open them in VLC, install the HEVC extension on Windows, or download the plain No watermark version, which plays everywhere.
Can I download private TikTok videos?
No. Only public posts can be read. Private, friends only, age restricted or deleted videos cannot be downloaded.
Can I repost videos I download?
Videos and sounds belong to the people who made them. Saving a video to watch later or downloading your own posts is fine. Reposting someone else's video, even without the watermark, needs their permission and may break copyright law and TikTok's rules.
